At the moment there are 52 organisations and 20 member states involved in Cancon. Although some member states are missing from the joint action, the steering committee of Cancon is positive about getting all involved. Member states can also participate in Cancon as partners.
The steering committee meeting of Cancon was held on 23 of September in Milan. In addition also the Guide coordination (work package 4) and Member state platform (work package 5) had meetings in Milan.
According to the steering committee, Cancon is progressing well. The first reporting was just carried out successfully and work of the work packages has started.
In addition to Cancon meetings, related meetings were simultaneously organised in the same venue. The Informal Meeting of the EU Ministries of Health as well as the first meeting of a Commission Expert Group on Cancer Control were held in Milan.

The first WP9 Coordination meeting was held on 5 November in Riga. It was hosted by professor Marcis Leja and the location was at the The Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (CDPC) which is supervised by the Ministry of Health of Latvia.
